GOLBURN VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT 1225

From 1905 to 1965, about 350 students attended the Golburn School.

It also served as a community centre for a wide variety of social activities and meetings.

The Golburn 4-H Grain and Swine Clubs, known for their success in Provincial and National Competitions, held their events here. The Swine Club helped to organize the Golburn Agricultural Society in 1942. Every year since, a summer fair has been held on this site.

The land and buildings were purchased by the Society and are still in use in a community which once had a railway siding, grain elevator, post office and grocery store

The grounds were also previously home to the Golburn Gallopers Light Horse 4H club.

Today the ag society is proud to still host the annual Golburn Fair that is held on the first Saturday in August after the long weekend. In addition, the Golburn Ag Society also supports various agricultural related events in the community, including hosting a farm safety day for students in Tisdale.
